Product Manager

Berntsen International is a 50+ year-old Madison, WI-based firm, recognized as a leader in the manufacture and resale of high-quality survey and infrastructure marking products. Now we’re growing our business with technology-embedded marking products that collect field data and connect our infrastructure marking products with digital management systems such as GIS.   

We are seeking a Product Manager to enhance our traditional product line and develop the new line of Connected RFID marking products. This role is pivotal in shaping the next generation of Berntsen International.

What You Will Do:

As the Product Manager, you will lead development and deployment of Berntsen’s line of marking products and solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for InfraMarker’s RFID marking solutions.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and guide product positioning.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations teams to deliver innovative and high-quality products.

  • Customer Engagement: Gather and prioritize customer requirements, ensuring solutions meet real-world challenges and provide hands-on new product and solution implementation to ensure customer success.

  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee product line enhancements and new product development from concept through launch.

  • Performance Metrics: Monitor product performance, adoption, and ROI, adjusting strategies as needed.

What We Need:

A skilled product manager who anticipates customer needs, sets priorities for product enhancement, coordinates the design and manufacture of the new products, and develops the process to deploy those solutions to the target customer. An individual who enjoys project management and takes a hands-on approach to successful implementation.

Berntsen and our partners offer a range of marking products for survey, utility, and construction purposes. We need an innovator who relishes the challenge of turning those traditional products into valued components for a connected world.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • 5+ years of product management experience in manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of embedded technology solutions.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Extras:

  • Understanding of Asset identification technologies such as RFID

  • Understanding of GIS (ESRI), or Asset Management Systems
